Jeter, Yankees May Leave the American League East for a Tighter Division

New York, NY -- With their nearest competitor trailing the Yankees by at least six games for some time now, noted lothario Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees are threatening to leave the division in search of a tighter replacement. "It's been a really long time now with the same division, I just don't get the same feeling of having a nice tight juicy pennant race wrapped around me. Frankly, the excitement is missing each night at gametime. Maybe there is something hotter out West for the team."

Reached for comment in Milwaukee, MLB Commissioner Bud Selig said, "Perhaps I can get them interested in the Twins joining in? That worked for me and Sue after Wendy was born."
